Fullmetal Alchemist: The Conqueror of Shambala
Munich, Germany, 1923. Two years have passed since Edward Elric was dragged from his own world to ours, leaving behind his country, his friends and his younger brother, Alphonse. Stripped of his alchemical powers, he has been all this time researching rocketry together with Alphonse Heiderich, a young man who resembles his own brother, hoping to one day find a way back home.
His efforts so far had proven fruitless, but after lending a hand to a troubled gipsy girl, Edward is thrown in a series of events that can wreak havoc in both worlds. Meanwhile, at his own world, Alphonse Elric ventures deeper into the mysteries of alchemy in search for a way to reunite with his older brother.

No. of Episodes: 1 Movie
This movie suppose to serve as the ending of Fullmetal Alchemist. Yet however, since the ending of the TV leaves bunch-o-unanswered-questions, thus everything including the new premise were being forced to stuff into this less-than-2hours-movie.
The new premise is that the story has included some post World War 1 stories. Since I’ve studied World War 1 during my History Class. I found that the events are actually match each other. But, the whole story is still very confusing if you don’t concentrate enough. The fusion of history and fictional story.
Overall, the story is really awesome. Just you have to pay full attention in order to fully understand the story.
I’ll have it rated: 36.5/40
The animation quality of this movie is superbly remarkable. The artwork is beyond every anime of that year. Of course, since it is a movie version which should held higher quality than OVA and TV series. The background and environment are fully detailed.
Fluid and smooth motion. Especially the action scenes which stunned me.
For 2005, the animation quality of this movie is too great. I wish I could get my hands on those bluray release. If possible, I think I might want to re-mark the points.
I’ll have it rated: 27/30
- “Link” by L’Arc~en~Ciel
- “Lost Heaven” by L’Arc~en~Ciel
Didn’t pay much attention to the theme song of the series as I think they’re just so-so. Lack of spectacular memorable song such as the the insert song/bgm of previous TV series, (Brothers). Yet The theme song still have a kind of Fullmetal Alchemist feel.
I personally noticed that the soundtrack of this movie is done very well. Mixes with the scene/mood of the show perfectly.
I’ll have it rated: 15.5/20
If you want to watch this, please finish the TV series first, or else you’ll waste your 1hour and 44minutes watching a movie that you have no idea what is going on.
36.5 + 27 + 15.5 + 9 = 88points
88points, EXCELLENT anime
