Week 7 of 52

Last week I had been assigned to tag along my superiors to go to UTAR Kampar for a 2 days recruitment drive. Early in the morning I have to get prepared to depart to Kampar. This photograph was taken while I was waiting for my ride to Kampar. I had nothing better to do other than observing all the happenings that I never really paid attention to despite that I’ve lived here for almost 2 years.

I was expecting a lot of activities such as students and salaryman getting off for the day, but surprisingly no. Most of the early risers are the muslims who are heading to the nearby mosque for their morning prayers.

The lighting condition was terrible and I thought I wouldn’t get anything useful out of Lumi-chan. Pushing the ISO to 800 is my acceptable limit, anything beyond that is practically unusable or only usable when converted to black and white.

This reminds me of a conversation I had with a friend where he mentioned that the smartphones nowadays are capable of producing amazing images which renders the point-and-shoot useless. I couldn’t agree more but the smartphones lacks something that I adore in photography – the ability to control the outcome via aperture, shutter speed and ISO values. That weakness is why I see the smartphone cameras as a “soul-less” camera.
