Lian-Li Lancool PC-K62

Life has being quite busy since the starting of the new semester. Cramping 2 weeks of studies in one week is superbly stressing. Have to maintain the pace or else you would drop off.

Opps.. back to the topic. Today, we’ll looking at the casing for Project 955 – Lian Li Lancool PC-K62 DragonLord Dark Ice casing. (what a long name…)

lancool-02

This is a mid tower case. Initially I wanted to get a full tower, but after I got this case, I’m glad that I didn’t get a full tower cause even a mid tower is already taking up a lot of space already.

lancool-03

The box got damaged a bit at the handler during transport…

lancool-04

But the casing is in mint condition. Typical packaging for a pc casing, plastic covered with styrofoam support at top and bottom.

lancool-05

SWEET looking side panel.

lancool-06

It’ll look great once finished ^^.

lancool-07

Front panel shows the meshed grills for air flow.

lancool-08

Top panel – Power button, reset button, two USB ports and audio jacks. There are two 140mm fans underneath the ventilated part at the back there.

lancool-10

Back panel – honeycomb grill for a 120mm exhaust fan, I/O area, 2 holes for water cooling pipes, eight expansion slots and PSU cage.

lancool-11

Full black interior = Pure beauty

lancool-12

The motherboard tray has a couple holes for mounting CPU cooler bracket or cable management. The tooless expansion slot locks is the very best I’ve ever seen.

lancool-13

There are five 5.25″ drive bays and four 3.5″ drive bays. There’s one 140mm intake fan at the front.

lancool-14

Two 140mm blue LED exhaust fans at the top.

lancool-15

Stripped apart – The casing is made of steel and plastic. Lian Li is been famous in producing aluminium casing, meanwhile their sub-company – Lancool produces steel casing.

lancool-16

The stripped top panel reveals the fans and buttons and ports.

lancool-17

The fans can be easily removed, tooless.

lancool-18

Accessories included – screws, molex-to-3pin adapter, cable management holder, PSU lock, and a rubber price for reducing vibration on your HDD.

lancool-19

The filters can be removed for cleaning purpose.

Overall, the good points:

  1. The tool-less design is the very best I’ve ever seen.
  2. Full black design
  3. user safety design (reduced sharp edges)
  4. 8 expansion slots
  5. filters at the air intakes
  6. 4 fans included
  7. cable management holders.

There’s only a few complains:

  1. I need more molex-to-3pin fan connector
  2. Should use full steel
  3. Four HDD max…

As conclusion, this casing has lots of great features and definitely value for RM350+-.

  1. When you’re finished with your build and ran it for a while post up a response to how well it handles the dust. gl on the project

    1. yeah.. will do it as soon as possible.

The filter used are different with Cooler Master’s thin spounge.

Lancool’s filter is much like a net.
