Paya Village, Tioman

Have you been to Tioman Island before? It is an island located around 32KM off the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia.

During my last semester break, I had my vacation at one of the nine villages on the island – Paya Village.

No idea why there isn’t any record of Paya Village on Google Map. So I marked the coordinate on it.

It takes 5 hours to travel by bus from Kuala Lumpur to Mersing town. Mersing jetty is about 10 minutes walk from the bus terminal.

So, better take night bus =D. You don’t wanna waste your precious day time sitting on a bus.

Another reason to reach early – ferry might get rescheduled or canceled depends on the tide and weather condition.

How awesome is that sea!!!

Even though my home town is only 20 minutes trip to the beach, but that was west coast!!

in various ways – West Coast is different from East Coast. =D

Kinda late to book for the resort and it was peak season, so the selection is quite limited. Luckily we manage to reserve a decent room at Paya Beach Resort.

Their review is quite good. At least you get what you paid for.

Telecommunication reception is limited on the island. Only Maxis network is available.

I’m DiGi user, no luck for me. Furthermore, the resort’s WiFi service isn’t ready yet, hence rendering my phone as useful as a brick.

The people on the island is pretty much entertained solely by the television.

No, I don’t mean they play around with the satellite dish.

Remember to bring along some bread to feed the fish.

I guess fishes at this area is already used to the tourists because there’s a snorkeling trip every morning.

Of course I snorkel as well, but not my Lumi-chan.

We stayed there for 3 days before packing for another 2 hours of boat trip and 5 hours of bus trip.

By the way, this post was meant to be posted last month or earlier, because I’m occupied with my school works and processing the RAW files require some time, that pretty much sums up the delay.

If you’re planning to go for a Island trip or urban getaway, Tioman Island is a good choice actually.
