Anime Festival Asia 2011 Event Highlights

Anime Festival Asia (AFA), South East Asia’s largest Japanese Pop Culture and Anime convention is back for its fourth year.

It will be held on 11 – 13 November 2011 at Singapore’s Suntec Convention Centre, exhibition hall 402 – 404.

Cool Japan Forum will be held of the first day, whereas the festival events will be on second and third day.

This post will cover most of the key events during the festival.

Cool Japan Forum

Will be held on 11th November 2011, Cool Japan Forum is a business networking forum with top Japanese and regional business leaders from music, fashion and animation industries.

The focus of the discussion would be relating experiences and collaboration opportunities in Asia based on the analysis of Japanese content development within the music, fashion and entertainment industries.

Speakers include Mr. Takaaki Kidani (Bushiroad President), Mr. Haruhiko Mikikoto (legendary character designer), Sampei Yamaguchi (Sony Music Artists’ Senior Vice-President).


AFA2011 Anisong

Apparently, this year’s anisong concert is rock themed.

Performing artists:

  • 11 Nov: Asia Premier Hatsune Miku 3D concert
  • 12 Nov: FLOW, Mizuki Ichirou, LiSA, Sea☆A
  • 13 Nov: Kalafina, Itou Kanako, May’n, Milky Holmes

AFA Regional Cosplay Championship


AFA is sponsoring the top cosplay team from each participating Southeast Asian country to compete in the Regional Cosplay Championship during the two-day anime festival.

They will perform and be judged by a panel of guests from Japan and around the region, including internationally renowned cosplayer KANAME☆.

Moe Moe Kyun Maid Cafe & Atelier Royale Butler Cafe


Southeast Asia’s premium Maid & Butler cafe are back to AFA. This year’s Moe Moe Kyun cafe will be original maid themed, meanwhile Atelier Royale will be Wonderland themed.

Not to forget we have new maids and butlers added to the cafe.
